Baltimore Man Stabs Mother With Steak Knife

BROOKLYN PARK, Md. (WJZ)—A 60-year-old woman was hospitalized on Thursday after police say her son stabbed her with a steak knife.

The incident happened at approximately 7:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Edgevale Road in Brooklyn Park.

According to authorities, the victim's son, 31-year-old Paul Jeffrey Tond, of Baltimore attempted to enter his mother's room to take medication when an altercation ensued.

During the incident, police say Tond punched his mother, stabbed her with a steak knife, and then held the bedroom door closed to prevent her from getting help.

The victim was transported to Shock Trauma and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Tond is facing multiple charges including attempted second degree murder, first degree assault.
