Baltimore Man Arrested In Blunt-Force Death Of His 4-Month-Old Son

BALTIMORE (AP) -- A Baltimore man has been arrested in the death of his 4-month-old baby boy after the infant was found not breathing.

Baltimore police said Tuesday that they arrested 20-year-old Christopher Banner on Thursday in the death of his son, Christopher Jr. No attorney is listed for Banner in court records.

Police say they responded to a call on Nov. 18 about an infant who wasn't breathing and immediately began CPR. They took the baby to a hospital, where he died two days later despite life-saving efforts by the medical staff.

Police say the baby's cause of death was determined to be blunt-force trauma.

Banner now faces charges of child abuse, assault and reckless endangerment. He's being held without bail.
