Towson Getting Into Holiday Spirit With Annual Tree Lighting

TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) -- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Towson is shining brightly after its annual tree lighting ceremony.

Every year, this Towson tradition brings out hundreds of people to kick-start the holiday season.

The annual tree lighting in downtown Towson--dazzling onlookers of all ages.

"It was beautiful," said Maddie Deane.

The sights and sounds of Christmas--sprinkling holiday cheer. Even the Grinch got into a jolly mood, with dancers, singers and musicians circling around the towering tree.

"The Christmas tree is like almost to the sky and it's so good. It looks like a rainbow," said Kadin Purnell.

Getting everyone in the Christmas spirit.

"Because there's all these lights and ornaments and shining," said Maddie Deane.

The tree lighting also boosts business for shops in the area, jump-starting their busiest season to come.
