Police: Possibly Fatal 5-Vehicle Crash Cause Delays On I-695

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Officials say a possibly fatal five-vehicle crash caused delays on the inner loop of I-695 near Charles Street in Timonium.

The Maryland State Police say according to witnesses and drivers involved, a 2016 Kia Forte, was being recklessly driven, weaving between cars and excessively speeding.

The Forte ultimately caused the collision which sent a total of five people to local hospitals. The driver of the Kia Forte was identified as a 23-year-old white male from Westminster and he was transported to Shock Trauma with life-threatening injuries.

Police say an odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected and several empty alcoholic beverage containers were found in his vehicle.
