Baltimore Co. Police ID Suspect Shot By Officer

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—Baltimore County Police have identified the suspect shot by an officer on February 18th as 37-year-old George Greenwood Willinger III.

Exclusive video obtained by WJZ shows the moments leading up to a police-involved shooting in Baltimore County.

Around 2:00 a.m. Thursday, police say they stopped a vehicle suspected to be involved in narcotics activity at Old Eastern Ave and Harrison Ave.

In the surveillance footage, you can see the Nissan Altima pull up; the passenger, Willinger, gets out as the police car arrives on the scene.

When the lights turn on, the Altima pulls away — leaving Willinger the street with his hands up in the air.

But as the officer approaches seconds later — Willinger reaches down towards his waist.

That's when the officer fires, hitting Willinger at least once.

Investigators did not find a gun on the suspect, but says a loaded gun was found inside the car — along with a scale and cash.

Police have arrested the car driver — Timothy Dudeck — who they say was found with suspected Oxycodone and cocaine as well as $1,800 on him.

Dudeck is charged with possession of CDS with intent to distribute, firearms violations, and other related charges. He was released on $100,000 bail.

Authorities say Officer Olszewski, a 7-year veteran assigned to the Essex precint, was the officer who fired his weapon.

On Wednesday, police announced charges against Willinger.

Willinger has been charged with possession of CDS with intent to distribute, a handgun violation, and other charges. He is going to be held without bail on those charges, but he is still hospitalized at this time, police said.

Investigators say they recovered baggies containing a white rock substance, yellow and orange pills, and an "owe sheet" from Willinger.

The incident remains under investigation.
