Former Baltimore Police Officer indicted on child sex charges

BALTIMORE — A former Baltimore City police officer was indicted on child sex crimes, the Baltimore City State's Attorney's Office said.

Larry Tucker, 56, is facing 16 sexual offense counts, including nine felony counts of sex abuse with a minor.

The crimes allegedly happened between 2011 and 2013.

In an indictment issued by a Baltimore City Grand Jury, Tucker was also charged with two felony counts of sexual solicitation of a minor, along with felony child pornography, and conspiracy to commit sexual offense charges.

"I hope this indictment motivates victims to come forward regardless of how much time has passed or who the perpetrator is. No one is above accountability," said Baltimore City State's Attorney Ivan Bates. "I applaud my Public Trust and Police Integrity Unit for securing this indictment and beginning the pursuit of justice for the victims. I also thank Maryland State Police for their partnership and essential collaboration in this case."

Police said Tucker was taken into custody at the Baltimore City Sheriff's Office and will be transported to the Baltimore City Detention Center pending his appearance before a judge.

Maryland State Police are asking that if anyone has information relevant to this investigation, to contact them at the North East Barrack at 410-996-7800.
