Baltimore Breaks Christmas Eve Weather Records
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Baltimore region is breaking weather records on a warm and soggy Christmas Eve.
The National Weather Service reports temperatures at the region' three airports hit 70 degrees by early Thursday afternoon.
Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport broke 65-degree records set in 1990 and 1982. Dulles International Airport broke a 1982 record of 66. Reagan National Airport broke its 1933 record of 69.
The weather service reports that the moisture measured in the region's atmosphere Wednesday evening was the highest recorded in December through April since such records began in 1948. Flash flood watches are in effect into Thursday evening.
On Wednesday, Baltimore received 2.01 inches of rain, breaking the 1907 record of 1.04. Reagan National saw 1.67 inches, to break its 1907 record of 1.3.
