Authorities Passing Out Fliers In Md. Cold Case
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- Authorities will be passing out fliers in Prince George's County as part of their efforts to solve the cold-case killing of a U.S. Postal Service worker shot dead while delivering mail just before Thanksgiving last year.
Prince George's County police and U.S. Postal Service inspectors will pass out Crime Solvers fliers Saturday in the Landover community where 26-year-old Tyson Barnette was killed Nov. 23 last year. Barnette was found fatally shot shortly after 7 p.m. that night.
Authorities are offering a reward of up to $125,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case.
The U.S. Postal Service says Barnette worked for the agency for six years and that killings of active-duty postal workers are rare.
