Authorities: No Foul Play In Student's Fall From Dorm Window

FROSTBURG, Md. (AP) — Authorities say a Frostburg State University student drank heavily at an off-campus party before his fall from a sixth-floor window of a dormitory.

The Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit said in a statement Wednesday that no foul play was involved.

Officials say friends escorted 19-year-old Orion Belete of Silver Spring from the party to his dorm room. Officials say surveillance video shows Belete was alone at the time of the fall and the teen confirmed that no one else was involved.

Officials say Belete was found unconscious behind Westminster Hall on April 10 and taken to a local hospital. He was later flown to a Baltimore hospital, where he's still being treated for serious injuries sustained in the fall.
