Authorities Investigating Shots Fired At 5 Passing Vehicles

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Authorities in Frederick County say they are investigating reports of shots fired at five passing vehicles in Mount Airy.

The Frederick News-Post reports Frederick County Sheriff's spokeswoman Cpl. Amanda Ensor says authorities received the first call at 5:27 p.m. Monday for shots fired at a UPS truck, which shattered a window.

Ensor says four more vehicles were shot at in a period of about 30 minutes. Among those four, a window was shattered on one, and a door was hit on another.

She says two children were in one of the vehicles. No one was hurt. Ensor says deputies believe a BB or pellet gun was likely used.

Ensor says as of Monday night, the investigation remained ongoing, and that deputies were questioning a possible juvenile suspect.
