Authorities Investigating Murder At Maryland Prison

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Maryland State Police is investigating the suspected murder of an inmate at a state prison Saturday afternoon.

30-year-old Michael Hall was an inmate at the Washington Correctional Institution, where he was serving a 29 year sentence for murder and weapons charges, according to the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services.

Authorities report Hall died from injuries he received during an assault and stabbing earlier in the day.

Police say they have a suspect in Hall's death, but no charges have been filed at this time. The suspect is an inmate at the same Allegany County prison.

Hall's body has been sent for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
