More Than A Dozen Injured After 5-Car Wreck In Montgomery Co.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—Authorities have declared a mass casualty incident after they say at least eight people were injured following a five-car crash on Sunday night.
It happened on NB I-270 between Rt. 121 (Clarksburg Road) and Rt. 109.
According to Montgomery County Fire & EMS Spokesperson Pete Piringer, more than a dozen people were injured in the crash.

Piringer says of those injured, eight patients, including 4 children, were transported for non-life threatening injuries. One woman was transported for serious injuries sustained in the crash.

All lanes were blocked on I-270 while investigators cleared the crash scene.
The exact cause remains under investigation.
