Authorities: 2 Dead, 2 Hurt In Montgomery County Crash

NORTH POTOMAC, Md. (AP) -- Authorities in Montgomery County say two people are dead and two more are seriously injured after a car crashed into a tree.

County police say the crash happened just before midnight Thursday on Dufief Mill Road in North Potomac. Police say a sedan with four people inside was headed north when it left the road, striking a tree. Police say the car came to rest in the front yard of a home.

Authorities say when officers arrived, they found two people dead. Two others were taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The identities of those who died were not immediately released, pending the notification of family.

Detectives are investigating the crash and police say speed and alcohol are possible factors.
