Arrest Made In Killing Of 95-year-old Maryland WWII Veteran

COLESVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County police say they've made an arrest in the killing of a 95-year-old WWII veteran.

Police say Dan Belvin, a retired Navy officer, was found dead Monday in his Colesville apartment with trauma to his torso.

Police say officers responded to the scene after a concerned friend called to say he hadn't heard from Belvin.

On Wednesday, police said they arrested 60-year-old Eric Dyson in Belvin's death. Online court records show that Dyson lives in the same senior-living community as Belvin did. He's charged with first-degree murder and a number of theft charges in the case.

No defense attorney was listed for Dyson in court records.

The Washington Post reports that U.S. military records show that Belvin served during WWII and the Korean War.
