Around The Big Ten With Jon Jansen

Jon Jansen, former right tackle in the NFL and broadcaster on the Big 10 Network joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Jason La Canfora to preview this week in the Big 10. The conversation started off with Jon's alumni the Michigan Wolverines. Scott asked what it's like to watch a once storied program to struggle as much as Michigan has this year. "It's been a tough season, the kids are still working hard which is a good thing and putting full days of work in at practice and still playing hard in the games so that's always encouraging to see."

Rumors have been swirling of one of the Harbaugh Brothers taking over the head coaching position at Michigan. Jon says that people shouldn't pay attention to the rumors until Brady Hoke is no longer the head coach. "If you don't win at Michigan there's always talk of who could do it better. But right now Brady Hoke is our coach and there is really no sense in talking about who could be next. But if Brady wins out, it's going to be a tough path, but if he wins out he will still be our coach next year."

There are two teams that are clearly at the top of the Big Ten right now, followed by a log jam in the middle. Jeremy asked Jon who he believes is the best team in the Big Ten right now. "Right now until Michigan State is beaten in the Big Ten they're the reigning champs, they beat Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship Game last year. So for right now you have to give the cream of the crop to Michigan State.
