Anne Arundel K-9 Finds 14 Pounds of Marijuana in Package

GREENBELT, Md. (AP) — One person has been arrested after authorities found more than 14 pounds of marijuana in a package waiting to be mailed.

According to a statement from the Anne Arundel County Sheriff's office, the U.S. Postal Inspector's office contacted the sheriff's office on Tuesday for assistance with two suspicious packages.

A deputy and his K-9 arrived, and the dog inspected several parcels. The K-9 reacted to one parcel by wagging his tail and barking.

The postal inspector applied for a warrant for the package that the dog identified. When authorities opened the package, they found 14.3 pounds of marijuana inside.

The postal inspector then set up a controlled delivery at an address in Greenbelt. One person was arrested as a result.

Additional information on the suspect hasn't been released.
