Annapolis Police Report: Violent Crime Up In 2019

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- The Annapolis Police Department released its yearly crime summary.

The city experienced a rise in violent crime in 2019 compared to 2018.

There were four homicides last year compared to just one in 2018.

Robberies jumped from 47 to 67, and there were 30 more assaults.

Property crime was up slightly.

Crime rates in Annapolis, however, have remained steady over the last decade.
