Annapolis Man Gets 2 Life Terms For Murder, Conspiracy
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- An Annapolis man convicted of the shooting death of a visitor to his ex-girlfriend's home has been sentenced to two life sentences.
Charles Spriggs Jr., 26, was convicted in November of first-degree murder in the death of 30-year-old Howard Durley. The Capital of Annapolis reports that he was sentenced Thursday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court.
The life sentences have the possibility of parole.
Prosecutors say on Jan. 23, Spriggs and William Chase, 20, confronted Durley as he left the ex-girlfriend's home in Annapolis.
Authorities say Spriggs told Chase, who had a gun, to shoot Durley. Prosecutors say Chase shot Durley in the chest, chased him and shot him again. Durley died at the scene.
Chase pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in July. He will be sentenced Friday.
