Mother, Father And Son Allegedly Assault Baltimore County Police Officers

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A family is accused of attacking multiple Baltimore County Police officers who were responding to a domestic disturbance.

The Davis family was arrested on May 20 for the alleged assault outside their home in Dogwood Drive in Middle River.

Officers responded to the disturbance call for two brothers fighting at the home.

Their parents, Beverly and Gary, allegedly stepped in, and that's when police say things quickly escalated as a fight between the family and officers ensued.

Beverly Davis allegedly punched two officers in the face while her husband, Gary Davis tackled and choked an officer to the point of passing out.

"This was a significant incident that could have resulted in this officer being seriously hurt," Baltimore County Police spokesperson Cpl. Shawn Vinson said. "When our male officer went to place the woman under arrest, he placed his hand on her arm to attempt to handcuff her. At that point, the husband placed the officer in a chokehold and forced our officer to the ground"

Police say the couple's son, Scott Davis, knocked pepper spray away from an officer and assaulted her.

"He was restraining her, not allowing her to assist the other officer who was on the ground being choked at this point," Vinson said.

People in the neighborhood who are familiar with the family but asked not to be on camera tell WJZ that the family are good neighbors and usually keep themselves.

Beverly, 53, Gary, 54, and Scott Davis, 30, are charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, second-degree assault and assaulting a police officer.

Beverly Davis and two officers were taken to an area hospital where they were treated.

A court date for the family has not yet been set.

WJZ stopped by the Davis' home, but they didn't offer any comment.
