1-year-old found unharmed after Amber Alert in Maryland

A 1-year-old was found unharmed, and a man was arrested in Maryland on Saturday, a few hours after an Amber Alert was issued, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.

Police said 36-year-old Shannon Collins was taken into custody after the vehicle in question was located. Police said a citizen contacted officers, who were able to conduct a stop.

Collins, who is related to the child, was arrested without incident. The child was put in police care.

Amber Alert issued in Maryland

An Amber Alert was issued around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday for a possible abduction.

Officers searched for a 2022 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport SUV with a Maryland Tag 8GK3445. The child was last seen around 10:15 a.m. on Saturday in the 4200 block of Captain Perry Court.

The public was urged not to engage with Collins and the vehicle.
