Alyssa Thomas Eager To Excel For Maryland In Final Four

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) -- Years from now, Alyssa Thomas will look back with pride at all she accomplished on a personal level during her four years at Maryland.

The standout forward set the school scoring record, twice was named a first-team All-American and watched her number and name being raised to the rafters of her home arena.

None of that, however, compares to the feeling Thomas gets from heading to the Final Four for the first time.

Thomas said Thursday, "This ranks as the best thing that's happened in my career."

The Terrapins will face unbeaten Notre Dame on Sunday night. The winner advances to Tuesday's championship game.

Thomas leads the team in scoring and rebounding. No basketball player, man or woman, has scored more points at Maryland.
