Allegiant Adds 2nd Fla. Route From Hagerstown, Md.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Discount carrier Allegiant Air is adding nonstop flights between Hagerstown, Maryland and St. Petersburg, Florida.

The Las Vegas-based carrier announced the expansion of its service at Hagerstown Regional Airport on Wednesday. It says service from Hagerstown to the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport will begin Feb. 27 and operate twice a week.

Allegiant currently offers scheduled service between Hagerstown and Orlando, Florida.

Airport Director Phil Ridenour says the addition of a second Florida destination reflects a strong relationship between the airline and the Hagerstown airport.

Allegiant is promoting the new service with introductory fares as low as $65 one way.
