The federal government said police recovered a loaded gun from Christopher Alberts. The FBI said 33-year-old Alberts, from Harford County, was at the U.S. Capitol the day of the riots and tried to flee police with the loaded weapon.

Alberts is one of several Marylanders facing federal charges. Several of the riot suspects appeared in court virtually on Thursday. You can read the statement of facts here in Alberts' case.

This comes as the Department of Homeland Security has issued a rare warning that anti-government groups within the United States "could continue to mobilize to incite or commit violence."

Alberts appeared in district court earlier this month and was released.
