7 Sandstone Long Neck Turtles Hatch At National Aquarium

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — There was a recent special delivery at the National Aquarium in Baltimore, new turtles!

The Aquarium is celebrating the hatching of seven sandstone long neck turtles.

The turtles are a freshwater species native to only Australia. The parents have been at the Aquarium since 2004.

This is believed to be the first of the species to hatch outside of their native habitat anywhere on Earth! The turtles will stay off exhibit until they get a little older, the Aquarium said.
