6 Rescued After Boat Overturns Near Bay Bridge

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A Coast Guard spokesman says six people were rescued after a boat overturned near the Bay Bridge.

The Capital Gazette (http://bit.ly/1HGsv8G ) reports Capt. Sam Benson of TowBoatU.S., a private tow company, was on his way to bring fuel to a boater Sunday afternoon when he heard the radio call from the Coast Guard and turned his boat around, heading to the scene of the overturned boat.

Benson says he got three people out of the water and three had already climbed to the base of the bridge. The passengers were transferred to a Natural Resources Police boat which also picked up the stranded swimmers.

Benson says there were no reported injuries.
