6 Hour Standoff Ends Peacefully, Rape Suspect Charged

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Baltimore Police release new details following a barricade situation on Saturday night.

Authorities responded to the 2700 block of Baker Street when a woman reported she was assaulted and an armed man was inside the home.

Police now say 55-year-old Lenny Epps sexually assaulted the woman and then refused to allow her to leave the home.

The victim was able to climb onto the roof and jump to her safety.

Baltimore Police surrounded the home for more than six hours until Epps surrendered.

He is being charged with rape, involuntary detention, and several assault and weapons related charges.
