57 Animals In Hurricane Matthew's Path Coming to Md. For Adoption

BALTIMORE (WJZ)--The Humane Society of the United States says nearly 60 animals in South Carolina are set to arrive in Maryland in anticipation of Hurricane Matthew.

The animals are expected to arrive Thursday night at the following locations:

  • SPCA of Anne Arundel County of Annapolis, Maryland
  • Washington Animal Rescue League-Washington Humane Society of Washington, DC
  • Tri County Animal Shelter of Hughesville, Maryland
  • Humane Society of Washington County of Hagerstown, Maryland
  • Mohawk Hudson Humane Society of Menands, New York
  • Animal Care Sanctuary of East Smithfield, Pennsylvania

The 57 animals were awaiting adoption from the Charleston Animal Society in South Carolina.
