5 Years For Babysitter With 2 Kids In Getaway Car
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A western Maryland baby-sitter is going to prison for driving a getaway car with two kids inside.
The Herald-Mail reports that 38-year-old Krystal O'Neil of Cascade was sentenced to five years in prison Monday in Hagerstown. She was convicted in a plea deal of conspiring to commit robbery. She didn't admit guilt but acknowledged prosecutors had enough evidence to convict her.
O'Neil and Christopher Trumpower were charged in the attempted armed robbery last June of a small grocery store in Cascade. They brought along two small children they were babysitting in return for free housing.
Defense attorney Bernard Semler says O'Neil didn't know Trumpower planned to rob the store.
Trumpower also got a five-year sentence for his role in the crime.
