5 Charged In Alleged Frederick Kidnapping

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick police are charging five people with kidnapping and armed robbery of an acquaintance.

Police said Friday that a city police officer, a Frederick County deputy sheriff and a Maryland State Police trooper suffered minor injuries while chasing and catching the suspects early Thursday morning.

The alleged victim told police the suspects blocked his vehicle and took him against his will to his apartment building, where they took money from him outside.

He says he fled to his apartment, causing the suspects to fire several shots into the door before he called police.

The five defendants are a 20-year-old man, a 20-year-old woman and three 18-year-old men. They are all from Frederick.
