4-Year-Old Ellicott City Boy Dies In Jessup Crash

JESSUP, Md. (AP) — Howard County police say a 4-year-old Ellicott City boy has died after a crash in Jessup.

Police say the crash occurred Tuesday evening on state Route 32 near Dorsey Run Road. Police say 4-year-old Kamsi Akabudike was in a child safety seat riding with his mother in a Honda CRV when it made a sudden stop. The Honda and was rear-ended by a Jeep Wrangler, which then sideswiped a Ford Explorer.

Police say Akabudike was taken to Howard County General Hospital, where he died. The boy's mother and the driver of the Jeep were taken to the hospital with injuries police say were not life-threatening. The driver of the Ford and her 2-year-old passenger were not injured.

Police say no charges have been filed, but the investigation is ongoing.
