4 Students Disciplined Following Racist Viral Video

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—Four students at a Howard County school "were disciplined" on Wednesday after an apparent viral video displays a racist rant.

The 30 second video shows a Mount Hebron High School student speaking out against the Black Lives Matter movement.

The video, which has tens of thousands of views at this point, sparked outrage at the school and ultimately led fellow students to stage a walkout on Tuesday to send a message to administrators.

"We're not going to stand for racism. We're not going to stand for discrimination," said Robert Jett, student.

"I want them to change their policies so our students can be heard and so that racism won't be accepted," said Sarah Chernikoff, student.

Tuesday night, a town hall meeting was held at an area church to start a conversation about diversity.

On Wednesday, school officials tell WJZ  that four students have been disciplined in accordance with the student code of conduct in connection to the video.

The details surrounding that discipline remains unknown at this time.
