37 Baltimore Co. Schools Closed Monday Due To New AC Policy

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Thirty-seven Baltimore County schools will be closed Monday due to the the county's new policy that requires those without air conditioning to cancel classes when it's too hot.

School officials say after school and evening activities at those schools are also cancelled.

The schools are:

Elementary schools:

Baltimore Highlands
Battle Grove
Bear Creek
Bedford
Berkshire
Campfield
Chapel Hill
Charlesmont
Church Line
Colgate
Dundalk
Edmonson Heights
Grange
Halstead Academy
Kingsville
Lansdowne
Oakleigh
Orems
Pleasant Plains
Pot Spring
Reisterstown
Victory Villa

Middle schools:
Arbustus
Dumbarton
Franklin
Golden Ring
Middle River
Southwest Academy
Stemmers Run

High schools:
Catonsville Alternative
Dulaney
Frankling
Kenwood
Lansdowne
Overlea
Patapsco Center for the Arts
Woodlawn

Days off for heat will be eligible for a waiver of three 180 days school year mandate.

Most but not all Baltimore County schools are expected to have air conditioning by 2017.
