33-Year-Old Man Charged In American Legion, Woodsboro Bank Robberies In Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (WJZ) -- A 33-year-old man was charged in two recent armed robberies in Frederick.

According to Frederick County authorities, Anthony Young of Jefferson was arrested on Dec. 16 in connection with an Nov. 18 armed robbery for the American Legion on 1450 Taney Avenue and the Dec. 5 robbery of Woodsboro Bank at 900 North East Street.

On Dec. 15, authorities served a search warrant on a Jefferson residence. Young was taken into custody and questioned. During a search, police found evidence in the robberies.

Young was charged with armed robbery, reckless endangerment, felon in possession of a handgun in the commission of a violent crime, first-degree assault or theft under $1,500.
