3,000 Chickens Killed In Queen Anne's Co. Fire

CENTREVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say 3,000 chickens were killed in a fire in Centreville.

The State Fire Marshal's Office says the birds were killed in a fire on Dec. 26 in a chicken house. The Star-Democrat of Easton reports that it took 30 firefighters about 20 minutes to bring the blaze under control.

The fire marshal's office says the blaze, which started in the main electrical panel inside the chicken house, was accidental.
