30-Year Baltimore Co. Cop Charged For Sex Abuse Of Stepson

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A 53-year-old man who was with the Baltimore County Police Department for 30 years has been arrested and charged with child abuse.

David Roesler of Pennsylvania turned himself in at the Towson Precinct Tuesday morning.

In July, Roesler's stepson reported to Baltimore County Police that he had been sexually assaulted by Roesler between the ages of 13 and 16 at their home in Freeland.

The victim, who is now 28, said the abuse involved Roesler touching his genitals while he slept and being watched while he was in the shower or alone in his room.

Roesler, who last served in the Baltimore County K-9 unit but is no longer with the department, was charged with child abuse and fourth-degree sex offense and released on $50,000 bail.
