3 Light Rail Stations Reopen After Repairs
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Three Baltimore light rail stations are back up and running.
The Mt. Washington, Cold Spring and Woodberry stations were closed for about a week for erosion repairs.
According to MTA officials, all three reopened for train service Thursday at 6 p.m.
Each station is also accompanied by shuttle bus service to accommodate passengers.
"We are grateful to our passengers for their patience and understanding," said MTA Administrator Robert Smith. "The safety of our passengers and crew is our number one concern and I am pleased to say that the repair work has been completed and in time for the July 4th holiday weekend."
Heavy rains had eroded land near the tracks at the Cold Spring Station. Crews worked to stabilize the soil and build a retaining wall to prevent any further erosion.
