3 Inmates Stabbed During Fight At Md. Prison

JESSUP, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say three inmates have been stabbed during a fight at the Maryland Correctional Institution in Jessup.

Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services spokesman Mark Vernarelli says a fight broke out Thursday evening in a housing unit. He says the men's injuries were mostly cuts and puncture wounds and they aren't thought to be life threatening.

Vernarelli says the internal investigation unit is looking into the incident at the medium-security prison in Anne Arundel County, which houses more than 1,000 inmates.

He says officials don't have any information about a motive for the attack.
