3 Charged In Heroin Bust In Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Police say three Hagerstown residents are facing drug charges stemming from a bust that netted more than a half-pound of suspected heroin and methamphetamine.

The Herald-Mail reported Thursday that city, county and federal officers also seized $9,000 in cash and several firearms, including two stolen handguns.

Lt. Todd Kerns says police conducted the operation Monday on Hamilton Avenue in the city's North End.

He says officers seized nearly seven ounces of suspected heroin and more than three ounces of suspected methamphetamine. Kerns estimated the street value of the drugs at $50,000.
