Baltimore Man Charged With DUI In I-695 Crash In Baltimore County

TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) — A Baltimore man has been charged in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 695 in Baltimore County on Monday morning, police said.

The crash occurred at around 11:15 a.m. on the inner loop of Dulaney Valley Road.

The Maryland Highway Administration tweeted at around 11:30 a.m. the crash closed all lanes in the inner loop and the two left lanes in the outer loop.

Officials said Sean Cordell Bethea, 47, of Baltimore, was driving a silver 2017 Hyundai Sonata when he drifted onto the left shoulder and hit two vehicles. The drivers of both vehicles were on the shoulder changing a flat tire.

Bethea was arrested and charged for driving under the influence. Further charges are pending the investigation, police said.

He was taken by ambulance to Bayview Medical Center for treatment.

The two other vehicles involved were a red 2015 Honda Civic and a silver 2002 Mercedes E320. They were taken to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore.

The crash remains under investigation.
