21 Injured In 3-Car Crash Involving MTA Bus

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- At least 21 people were hospitalized following a three-car crash involving an MTA bus on Monday morning.

A busted grill, shattered glass and more than a dozen people injured after a MTA bus and two vehicles crash around 10:00 a.m. at East Belvedere Avenue & Hillen Rd.

Police say approximately 35-40 people were on board the MTA bus at the time of the accident.

At least 21 people, including a mother and her child were hospitalized for what appears to be non-life threatening injuries. Of the 21 victims, authorities say 17 of them were transported by an additional MTA bus to evaluate their injuries at the hospital.

One victim was medevaced for "urgent care, but the severity of their injuries were also non-life threatening," said Baltimore Fire spokesperson Samuel Johnson.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
