3 Arrested In Utility Pole Thefts

ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Police in Montgomery County have arrested three people, two of them teenagers, and charged them with stealing utility poles worth approximately $25,000.

Police say they were called Saturday to the parking lot of an Extended Stay America hotel for a report of suspicious activity. When they arrived, the saw a U-Haul truck with utility poles inside and saw three males wearing gloves and dark clothing running away. Police say they detained the three and believe they stole five utility poles from a construction site.

Police identified the adult as 33-year-old Marvin W. Frazier of Germantown. They say the two teenagers, ages 13 and 15, are family members. A telephone listing for Frazier rang unanswered Saturday evening.
