2nd Suspect Arrested In Robbery, Shooting Near UMd. College Park

BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Authorities have arrested a second suspect in connection to a robbery, shooting incident of a security guard near the University of Maryland College Park.

Back on September 6, 2016, a shooting occurred at the College Park Mariott Hotel and Conference Center. A security officer was shot during the incident and the suspects stole three safes which were alter recovered.

Police were able to arrest one of the suspects hiding in the woods shortly after the incident.

On Wednesday, campus police announced the arrest of the second suspect, Jamone Forbes, 35, of Bowie, who's facing charges of attempted first degree murder, robbery, assault and a slew of other charges.

The security guard remains hospitalized and is still recovering.
