22-Year-Old Woman Shot In Head Near Baltimore's Inner Harbor Overnight

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A 22-year-old woman was shot in the head overnight in Baltimore.

Police responded to the unit block of Commerce Street around 2 a.m. Friday for a report of a shooting.

Officers found the woman suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was taken to an area hospital where she remains in serious, but stable condition.

She told police she got into a physical altercation with an unknown woman when she heard what sounded like a gunshot.

Police Commissioner Michael Harrison said in a press conference Friday that the woman may have gotten into a verbal argument with a woman inside a nearby club. They took the altercation outside where it became physical.

An unknown suspect in a vehicle pulled up and shot the 22-year-old.

Officers attempted to stop the suspects as they arrived on scene, but the car fled.

The officers have found the suspect vehicle and a handgun.

Police do have a person of interest, but no arrests have been made.

They are hoping the public can help them identify the suspect.
