22, Including Kids, Rescued From Boat Wreck In Chesapeake Bay

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Twenty-two people were rescued from a boat southwest of Bloodsworth Island in the lower Chesapeake Bay.

Some of those rescued were school children.

Officials say that the boat struck something submerged in the water.

Watermen who were nearby plucked everyone from the water and wreckage.

The captain of the distressed vessel was airlifted to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Two others were taken to Easton General Hospital. Their conditions are not known.
