2 Tornadoes Touch Down In Southern Maryland On Saturday
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—Two tornadoes touched down in Southern Maryland on Saturday after severe storms swept most of the region.
The National Weather Service says two EF-1 tornadoes with peak winds of 90 MPH were briefly on the ground, creating substantial tree damaging along with some exterior home damge.
The first tornado touched down in Charles County near Morgantown just south of the US-301 Bridge. It was on the ground for just a few minutes officials said.
The second tornado—which was on the ground for more than a half and hour-- crossed the entire with of Saint Marys County which created damage for 16 miles.
No inures or fatalities were reported as a result of Saturday's storms.
