2 Teens Injured In Shooting Near Synagogue

GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say two teens were injured in a shooting near a synagogue in Greenbelt.

Police say it happened around 11:45 p.m. Saturday on Ridge Road in Prince George's County. The teenagers told police that they were walking to an event at a rented hall at the Mishkan Torah Synagogue when a fight broke out near them and several shots were fired.

Police say the shots struck a 19-year-old from Lanham in the back and a 16-year-old from Laurel in the shoulder. The teens' injuries are non-life-threatening.

Police say there does not appear to be a direct connection between the shooting and the synagogue.
