2 Remain In Critical Condition Following Virginia Bus Crash

MOUNT VERNON, Va. (AP) — Two people remain in critical condition following a head-on crash between a passenger car and a tour bus in Virginia in which the bus overturned.

Authorities said the crash Tuesday afternoon on the George Washington Memorial Parkway near George Washington's Mount Vernon estate left one person who was riding on the bus dead and 15 injured. U.S. Park Police spokeswoman Sgt. Anna Rose said three people were in critical condition following the crash. On Wednesday, she said two were still critical and the third was now in stable condition.

Rose previously said the mid-sized shuttle bus was carrying 18 tourists from China and the driver, who was not injured. The car had two occupants. At a news conference, Rose said passers-by helped right the bus so passengers could escape.
