2 Plead Guilty To Stealing Patients' Personal Info

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Two women have pleaded guilty to stealing more than $990,000 in merchandise using personal information obtained from patients in medical offices where one of women worked.

Thirty-seven-year-old Denise Wearing of Philadelphia and 27-year-old Michelle Jernell Cole of Baltimore entered the pleas Thursday in federal court in Baltimore. They agreed to pay restitution and face a maximum of 30 years in prison at sentencing in June.

According to their plea agreements, Cole worked at medical offices in Baltimore, Laurel and Glen Burnie. Prosecutors say Cole provided personal identifying information of patients to Wearing and others.

Authorities say Cole and wearing took over credit accounts at department stores and bought items for their personal use.
