Parking Dispute Ends With Murder-Suicide In Edgemere

EDGEMERE, Md. (WJZ) -- A Baltimore County man and woman are killed in a murder-suicide just as police officers arrive to arrest the man. He was wanted in a neighborhood parking dispute that turned violent in Edgemere.

Cristie Ileto has the chaos that led up to the two deaths.

Police had been called to the home Tuesday night after reports the homeowner threatened to shoot another man. When officers returned Wednesday, that's when they heard the gunshots.

Police were about to arrest William Hasenei after reports he threatened another man in the neighborhood with a handgun.

"And you heard, 'Pow, pow,'" one woman said.

"And I was like, 'Oh my god, what happened?'" said another woman.

"When the officers came, they heard two gunshots when they approached the house," said Corporal Shawn Vinson, Baltimore County Police Department.

Officers discovered the bodies of both the 47-year-old and his wife, Robin Hasenei, inside their bedroom.

"What we also can't determine at this point is who shot who and then who killed themselves," said Vinson.

Police say it started from an incident that happened Tuesday night, where a young man drove up, parked his car in front of a private pier to use that's only designated for people who live there.

"We received a call for a man who says he was threatened with a handgun," Vinson said.

An arrest warrant for the 47-year-old says Hasenei pointed a semi-automatic handgun into the victim's stomach and then head, saying: "You're lucky I don't blow your brains out."

"I know them. They're good people, and that's not like them," said neighbor Shana Seebach.

Police had retrieved several weapons from 28 Shore Road the night before, but residents struggle to make sense of Tuesday's argument over a parking spot near the neighborhood pier that ended with an arrest warrant and a murder-suicide.

Police say they didn't arrest the 47-year-old Tuesday night because he has a number of medical issues.

Police say it's not clear if the weapons recovered from the home were legal. Hasenei would have been facing charges that included first-degree assault and use of a firearm.
