2 Panda Cubs Born At National Zoo Appear Healthy
WASHINGTON (WJZ)--And panda watch continues!
The spokesperson with the Smithsonian National Zoo says they're optimistic about the chances that the twin giant panda cubs born last night will survive.
Panda mom Mei Xiang gave birth to two cubs four and a half hours apart on Saturday. Both cubs appear healthy.
Now panda keepers will perform the delicate task of swapping the cubs every few hours so that each gets a chance to nurse and bond with its mother.
Today also marks the second birthday of Mei Xiang other child, Bao bao!
